MEET THE TEAM

Director / Laboratory Manager

Matt has over 20 years experience in Optics. He started Maxem Glazing in 2010. He glazes spectacles for Opticians around the UK and Channel Islands.

It was a dream of Matt’s to open directly to the public to offer a different way of purchasing spectacles, but without a comprise to the quality or service.

In his spare time Matt enjoys many sports including tennis, badminton, golf and snooker.

Director / Dispensing Optician

After working as a optical dispensing assistant for many years Vicky qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 2008.

Vicky is rarely found at Maxem these days as she has returned to her HR career, but she is still very much involved behind the scenes!

When Vicky isn’t working she’s busy running around after her and Matt’s 2 boys.

Vicky loves music and sings with The Jenny Peplow Choir.

Manager / Dispensing Optician

Katie qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 2007 and has been at Maxem since 2022. She was promoted to Manager in October 2023.

Katie has an a eye for colour and design. She is very artistic and creates all our fabulous window displays.

When she isn’t at Maxem, Katie works from home as a Bookkeeper for small businesses with neurodivergent business owners, as well as looking after her 3 children, 3 cats and pug.

Finance Assistant

Kate is our finance queen. She can be found at Maxem on Mondays and Thursdays when she works with Maxem Glazing sending out invoices to our trade customers. Kate is also training to be a dog groomer!

When she is not working she is busy looking after her 3 children, 2 dogs and a horse.

Optical Dispenser

Sam has a wealth of experience from over two decades in the optical industry and she is certainly a hit with the customers! Sam can be found at Maxem on Mondays.

When she isn’t gracing us with her presence, Sam can usually be found on muddy walks with Digby while running her thriving business - Helping Hound Dog Walking & Pet Service.

Admin Assistant

Erin-Grace came to Maxem for work experience in year 10 and did such a fantastic job that we offered her a permanent position! She is currently completing her GCSE’s before heading off to college.

Erin-Grace works at Maxem on Saturday mornings and in School holidays

Supervisor / Dog

Digby is normally found sleeping under Matt’s desk in the Lab. He’s also happy to come and greet any dog lovers that visit.

When he isn’t at ‘work’ Digby can usually be found licking himself, woofing at other dogs or eating sausages.
